AussieYardWild publishes general information about wildlife around Australian homes. It is not legal, medical, veterinary or pest-control advice, and it does not take your particular situation into account. We have not inspected your property or seen the animal you are dealing with.
Safety comes first
Do not approach, handle, trap or try to identify a potentially dangerous animal up close because of something you read here. If someone has been bitten or stung, or is unwell, call 000. For injured wildlife, contact a local wildlife rescue group. For an animal that needs removing, use a licensed professional where your state or territory requires one.
Official sources are the final word
Wildlife rules are set by state and territory governments and sometimes by councils, and they change. Each guide lists the sources it was checked against and the date they were read. If an official source says something different from a guide, follow the official source, and please let us know.
Accuracy
We work to keep guides accurate and up to date, but we can’t promise that every page is complete, current or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from reliance on information on this site. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Photos on this site belong to their photographers and are used under the licence shown with each photo. Our own text, illustrations and design may not be copied or republished in bulk without permission. Short quotes with a link back are fine.

Guides link to government, council and other websites so you can check the information yourself. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content. A link is not an endorsement, and those agencies have not reviewed or endorsed this site.
